Learning to Recognize the Drip Tape Valve
Utilizing valves to manage sections of the drip tape is the most typical and the common types are:
Ball Valve: An uncomplicated valve with a handle to run a ball inside the valve. When the handle is lined up parallel to the pipe the valve is opened. When the handle is lined up perpendicular the valve is closed.
Gate Valve: A valve with a handwheel that rises and lowers the gate inside the valve. Turning the handwheel left (using counterclockwise) opens the valve, coupling right (using clockwise) closes it.
Anti-siphon Valve: A type of valve frequently operated as the main coupling point for a faucet or hose to your water system.

"There’s a slight slope to my garden and the lower rows always got flooded out and the top rows were always too dry, I was about to give up on drip irrigation entirely. I almost gave up on drip irrigation physically. After reading some more about a few zone control, I ended up buying a 3-pack of these valves. I built my garden out into three zones, and now I water each one separately. What a difference! "We needed a way to shut off water to our blueberry bushes without affecting the drip lines for the perennial beds. This valve was the solution. It's well made, and the 'on/off' indicator is easy to see. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the barb was a little large for our 1/2" mainline. We had to use some force to get it on, but once it was, it sealed perfectly. A dip in hot water would likely make that easier, but for us, it wasn't too bad. Good product for the money."
